Does Stain Fu contain Enzymes?

There are many cleaning products out there that contain “enzymes” to help clean pet stains. You might be wondering, does Stain Fu have enzymes? The answer is no.

You might be wondering why?

First, let’s talk about why enzymes are used in cleaning products. Enzymes are proteins designed to break down other proteins. Enzymes will break down (or as some people say “eat”) organic material such as pet urine. That’s all well and good, but that process can take a long time to work. They will work over time, but it is required for the area to stay damp. Otherwise, as soon as it dries up, it stops working. Another reason we don’t use enzymes is due to allergies. There are people who are actually quite allergic to them! And lastly, enzymes tend to leave a residue if not rinsed out properly. In the professional cleaning industry, enzyme products are used all the time. However, they have the proper equipment to fully rinse and extract out the product they used. If it’s not rinsed out properly? It will leave a sticky residue that will attract dirt and dust to the spot you just cleaned. That’s the exact opposite of what you want to happen!

So what does it have instead?

Oxygen power. It is designed to add oxygen to the stain to essentially blow up the organic material chemically. But don’t worry, it is very safe! In fact very safe, non-toxic, and biodegradable. The best part about using the power of oxygen is that is works fast- way faster than enzymes.

Many, many years ago our cleaning company used enzyme cleaners for pet stains. It’s not that they don’t work, (because they will eventually), but we don’t have the time to sit and wait overnight for a cleaning product to work. When we did use enzymes, we would have to “tent it” (block it off) to keep it damp and leave the product work overnight to do it’s work. Then we would have to come back the next day to extract it out. On top of that, many customers would take out our tented area right after we left, which dried out the enzymes and caused them to stop working. It was just a hassle and was very time consuming. We thought, there has to be a better way to do this. And that is one of the many reasons why Stain Fu was created.

We don’t think enzymes will be going away anytime soon, but our philosophy is to always be our best. You can bet we’ve thought about making a Stain Fu enzyme version, but it goes against every reason why we created this in the first place. We would basically be making an enzyme product to appease the masses because that is what their mom told them to buy. Or what their pet trainer told them to buy. But, we are going to stick to our guns (until we find the next best new age ingredient!). Stain Fu will always be what we intended it to be- the best cleaning product ever.
